Honey,
In response to my longing in 1984 to love and be loved completely by another person, God's message to me was: "No, Freddie, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled and content with being loved my Me alone." For one year I experienced an intensely personal and unique relationship with Jesus. I became united with Him -- exclusive of anyone or anything else -- exclusive of any desires or longings.
Jesus also said, "And when you are ready, I'll surprise you with a love far more wonderful than any you dreamed of." And that love was you, Cliff. He brought the new Clifford Harris into existence just for me.
When you gave me "one red rose" that Saturday evening 10 years ago, the Holy Spirit impressed me with the words, "He's the one" (not knowing He had said to you, "She's the one" earlier the same day). And I still hear the words ringing in my ears form my oldest son saying in response to your interest in me, "Mommy, if it's any man I would like to see you marry, it's him." I knew that was the Holy Spirit impressing Tony as He did me.
On Sunday, the very next day, you asked me to marry you, and I immediately said, "yes." Having spent one intense year with Jesus, I knew you were the one He had chosen to be my husband. What a miracle!
On May 11, 1995 Jesus led me to my list of 16 character traits that I specifically asked for in a husband. It was dated 4-28-84 and we were married on 5-10-85. Every request was granted to me, including pretty feet (Smile!). Isn't Jesus wonderful! And He's just that personal!
God had a two-fold purpose for our lives -- marriage and the birth of DRUG ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM. What miracles He has performed, not only in our marriage, but also in the lives of others through this ministry that He personally chose for us. We are both consumed with DAP and we have made a commitment to Jesus to do this work until He comes. No retirement!
On our tenth wedding anniversary and my 50th birthday (June 2) celebration, I would like to say, "Honey, thank you for making me the happiest person in all the world. I love you and Jesus loves you even more!"
